Skills & Experience Required:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience within a similar Container Traffic Operating role, including planning and routing HGV's
* Sound knowledge of driver’s hours regulations, transportation regulations and safety standards
* Knowledge of UK container port VBS systems, including Destin8
* IT skills, including the use of Microsoft packages and role related software, preferably TOPS
* Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment
* Problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Routing an allocation of vehicles in the most efficient way
* Planning deliveries to ensure they are completed on time, maintaining customer satisfaction while maximising revenue
* Managing an allocation of drivers
* Ensuring drivers operate within their legal working hours
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with drivers and customers
* Ensuring planning accommodates all required fleet maintenance
