Controls Engineer

Our client is a leading energy transition, business supporting the most challenging requirements for power generation, grid stabilization, substation and power grid support, and decarbonization through electrification. Partner with the best: In this role, as a Controls Engineer you will designing rotating equipment control system using PRISMIC products and various OEM’s PLC’s and IED’s. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for: * Leading the design of rotating machines and their auxiliary control systems. * Reviewing electrical and control circuit designs and provide detailed markups to the drawing office team. * Developing detailed test specifications for both hardware and software testing. * Programming PLCs using various OEM software to meet functional requirements. * Creating configuration files for IEDs using multiple OEM tools. To be successful in this role you will: * Have proven experience in designing control equipment for electrical power systems, machinery, and process control applications. * Have experience in PLC/DCS programming and configuring controllers/IEDs; Codesys knowledge is desirable. * Have the ability to interpret and design electrical circuit diagrams. * Have knowledge of software-based microsystems/control systems and communication protocols such as Modbus TCP; IEC 61850 and digital substation experience is desirable
