As Credit Control Team Leader, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day credit control operation, ensuring outstanding debts are managed effectively and customer accounts are kept within agreed terms.
You'll lead and support a team of credit controllers, monitor performance and work closely with internal departments and customers to resolve queries and minimise overdue debt.
Description
The key responsibilities of a Credit Control Team Leader:
Leading, motivating and developing the credit control team
Managing the day-to-day credit control function
Monitoring aged debt and ensuring outstanding balances are actively pursued
Setting and monitoring team KPIs and performance targets
Reviewing customer accounts and credit limits
Handling escalated customer queries and complex debt issues
Working closely with sales, finance and other departments to resolve account queries
Producing regular aged debt and performance reports
Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and procedures
Supporting cash collection and maintaining strong cash flow
Ensuring appropriate credit control procedures and controls are followed
Providing regular updates and reporting to senior managementProfile
A successful Credit Control Team Leader will have:
Previous experience in credit control, ideally at a senior or supervisory level - essential
Experience managing, mentoring or developing a team
Strong knowledge of credit control and debt collection processes
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A confident and professional approach when dealing with customers
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to analyse aged debt and identify areas requiring action
Good Excel skills
A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance teamJob Offer
