Credit Controller - ground rent and service charge

Job Title: Credit Controller – Ground Rents & Service Charges (Remote) Salary: £35,000 per annum Location: Fully Remote (UK) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Overview We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a growing property management team, specialising in the collection of ground rents and service charge accounts. This is a fully remote role offering the opportunity to work with a professional and supportive team while managing a portfolio of leasehold accounts. The successful candidate will have strong experience in credit control, ideally within property management, block management, or leasehold environments, and be confident managing arrears, communicating with leaseholders, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities Manage and collect ground rent and service charge arrears across a portfolio of leasehold properties Contact leaseholders via phone, email, and written correspondence to recover outstanding balances Negotiate and monitor payment plans where appropriate Maintain accurate records of all collection activity and account updates Work closely with property managers and finance teams to resolve account queries Escalate accounts where necessary in line with company procedures, including preparing cases for further action Reconcile accounts and ensure payments are allocated correctly Support month-end reporting on arrears and collection performance Requirements Previous credit control experience (2+ years preferred) Experience dealing with ground rents, service charges, or leasehold property accounts highly desirable Excellent communication and negotiation skills Strong attention to detail and organisation Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems What’s on Offer Salary of £35,000 per year Fully remote working Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to work within the property / leasehold sector Stable, long-term role with a growing organisation Can work in offices in Leeds, Mancheter or London If you are an experienced Credit Controller with property sector knowledge and enjoy working autonomously while maintaining strong professional relationships, we would love to hear from you
