The role…
Our central finance support function is based in Hull, and we currently have a vacancy for a Group Credit Manager to report to the Finance Operations Director. Now is an incredibly exciting time to join a business that is fast-paced, vibrant, and ambitious, with opportunities for everyone to develop and succeed.
What you’ll be doing…
Manage credit control team, providing regular support, guidance and setting of performance targets.
Minimise overdue debt and maximise cash collections.
Monitor aged debt and ensure risks are within acceptable limits.
Negotiate/approve payment terms.
Work closely with sales, finance, legal and senior management.
Produce Weekly/monthly credit risk reports for the business and management. Focusing on ageing reports, collection performances and bad debt risk.
Oversee the full provision and debt recovery process. Manage legal actions, payment plans and write offs. Coordinate with external debt collection agency.
Support on annual audits.
Oversee smooth process of acquisitions into the central credit control team
What we’re looking for…
Previous experience of credit management
Effective organisational and time management skills
Ability to lead and develop a credit control team across multiple entities and regions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to identify and evaluate financial risks
Ability to align credit management with broader business needs
Willingness to challenge credit term proposals requested by Sales teams
