Criminal Defence Solicitor
I am recruiting on behalf of a leading boutique law firm at an exciting time of growth, with opportunities across several departments. The firm represents clients in some of the highest-profile and serious offences in the UK and is ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, as well as recognised in the Times Top 250 Law Firms. The Role: The firm is seeking a 0–4 PQE Solicitor who is passionate about criminal law and enjoys attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts, representing clients at some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives. The role combines police station and court work with a manageable Crown Court caseload of approximately 10–20 files. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients at police stations, attending both scheduled and out-of-hours shifts. Attend Magistrates’ Court hearings, providing advocacy and client support. Manage a light to moderate Crown Court caseload. Maintain accurate and thorough case files, with regular file reviews. Work collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Engage in professional development and opportunities to obtain Higher Rights of Audience (training provided). Skills & Experience: 0–4 PQE in criminal law. Full Police Station Accreditation required; Duty Accreditation preferred but not essential. Genuine commitment to criminal law and client advocacy. Strong organisational and analytical skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Interest in developing higher rights of audience (training provided).
