Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Customs & International Trade Manager on behalf of a well-established professional services firm based in London.

This role sits within a growing specialist advisory team and will play an important part in delivering customs and international trade support to a varied client base. The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading multiple client engagements, managing projects from start to finish, and supporting the development of junior team members.

This is a delivery-focused role offering exposure to complex advisory work across customs, excise and evolving regulatory areas.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and deliver a range of international trade and customs advisory projects, including areas such as tariff classification, rules of origin and customs valuation.

* Conduct reviews of duty exposure and identify potential duty optimisation or recovery opportunities.

* Provide guidance on customs special procedures and support applications for relevant customs authorisations and accreditations.

* Assist clients during HMRC enquiries, compliance checks and voluntary disclosures.

* Advise on excise-related requirements and associated approvals where applicable.

* Provide support on emerging regulatory frameworks impacting cross‑border trade, including carbon-related reporting obligations.

* Manage projects from initial scoping and planning through to delivery, implementation and ongoing support.

* Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout engagements.

* Support the preparation of proposals, fee discussions and budgeting, while monitoring project performance and coordinating invoicing.

* Review technical work, help prioritise workloads and provide guidance to junior team members.

* Contribute to the development and use of trade and customs data analysis tools, collaborating with other specialist teams where required.

* Stay up to date with developments in customs legislation and international trade regulations, identifying potential implications for clients.

Skills & Experience

* 5+ years’ experience in customs and international trade.

* Strong technical knowledge across core customs disciplines.

* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

* Experience reviewing work and supervising junior staff.

* Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, fees and client relationships.

* Experience within consultancy or professional services would be advantageous.

London (Hybrid – minimum 2 days in the office)
£60,000 – £70,000
Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:30
