Cyber Security Test Coordinator
We’re proud that in December 2024 we were named Utility of the Year by Utility Week magazine who said we punched above our weight and used innovation to solve some of the industry’s most difficult challenges. Come and be part of our team and make a difference.
Now part of the Iberdrola and ScottishPower group, we’re collectively building smarter, greener electricity networks that will get Britain growing by investing in a better future, quicker.
A Fantastic Opportunity: Cyber Security Test Coordinator
We are looking for a Cyber Security Test Coordinator to provide the control and assurance layer across technology and change projects.
This is not a hands on cyber engineer role. Instead, you’ll sit at the intersection of projects, cyber security, risk, and suppliers, making sure new systems are properly assessed, tested, and secure before they go live.
If you have experience in project coordination, PMO, IT operations, or risk, and you want to move further into cyber security, this role offers an excellent step.
As a Test Coordinator you will act as the security assurance point of contact for IT and business projects, determine whether new or updated systems require security testing and ensure appropriate controls are in place, including:
* Firewall configuration
* Third party access
* Identifying potential security gaps or weaknesses.
You will work with Programme and Project Managers to understand upcoming delivery plans and anticipate security requirements, engaging with technical teams to understand:
* What is being built
* What data is involved
* What type of testing is required.
You will engage with framework suppliers and third party partners to request quotes and schedule testing, coordinate testing activity, timelines, and dependencies, organise and chair meetings, track actions, and keep delivery on course, write and maintain process and assurance documentation and book resources, pin dates, and ensure stakeholders stay aligned.
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:
* Experience working within IT or technical change environments
* Confidence working with technical teams and suppliers — able to understand technical language at a high level
* Strong organisational skills with the confidence to challenge, influence, and keep people on track
* Experience working with third parties or external vendors
* Experience in risk, compliance, or assurance functions
* Exposure to cyber security concepts (e.g. testing, governance, controls).
What we’re offering
We value your expertise and in return, you’ll receive:
* An annual bonus scheme
* 25 days annual leave increasing with length of service
* Private Healthcare
* An employee rewards portal offering discounts on several well-known brands
* A market-leading contributory pension scheme
* Employee assistance programme
* Opportunity for professional development through our L&D function.
