Deputy Manager – New Children’s Homes Location: Dudley (Kingswinford) | Salary: £38,000–£40,000 | Hours: Full-time, core hours Monday–Friday Service: Two 2-bedroom Children’s Homes (EBD / Complex Needs) We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to support the opening and day-to-day running of two new 2-bedroom children’s homes in Dudley (Kingswinford). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a newly launching service designed to provide young people with complex needs a safe, stable, and relationship-focused home — offering a genuine alternative to unregulated provision. The model is built around: * Safety and consistency * Strong, therapeutic relationships * Progression and positive outcomes * A culture that supports staff and leaders to deliver high-quality care The Role As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in: * Running two small, specialist homes on a day-to-day basis * Leading and supervising staff teams, supporting training and development * Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and risk management * Supporting children with EBD / trauma / complex needs * Building positive relationships with placing authorities and other professionals * Driving compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations * Acting as Registered Manager in their absence Who We’re Looking For You will be: * Experienced in children’s residential care, with a good understanding of complex needs and EBD * Confident supervising staff and providing consistent leadership * Knowledgeable about Ofsted frameworks and children’s homes regulations * Child-centred, resilient, and solutions-focused * Ambitious to grow into a Registered Manager role in the future (desirable) Qualifications: * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) * Level 5 Diploma or willingness to work towards is desirable * Full UK driving licence preferred What’s On Offer * Salary £38,000–£40,000 * Core hours Monday–Friday with occasional flexibility as required * Opportunity to develop your leadership skills and step up to Registered Manager * Chance to help shape culture and quality from the very start * Work with a team who value relationships, stability, and doing things properly Apply If you want to be part of a team where children come first and staff are supported to deliver high-quality care, we’d love to hear from you
