Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join a dedicated specialist SEN school supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

💼 About the Role
As DDSL, you will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all pupils. You will play a key role in managing safeguarding concerns, supporting staff, and liaising with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children with additional needs.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Support the DSL in all safeguarding matters across the school
Respond to safeguarding concerns in a timely and professional manner
Work closely with staff to promote a safe and nurturing environment
Liaise with external agencies including social care and early help services
Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records
Support a strong safeguarding culture across the school community
Provide advice and guidance to staff working with vulnerable pupils👤 The Ideal Candidate
Experience in safeguarding within an education or SEN setting
Strong understanding of KCSIE and child protection procedures
Experience working with children with additional needs (SEN/SEMH/ASC desirable)
Calm, confident and resilient when managing sensitive situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant safeguarding qualification (desirable but not essential depending on experience)💰 Salary & Contract
£32,595 per annum
Initially a temporary position with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate based on performance
