Deputy Head of English (3rd in Charge) A secondary school in Luton (LU2) is seeking a talented and motivated Deputy Head of English to join their successful English department. This Deputy Head of English role is ideal for an experienced English teacher looking to step into a leadership position while continuing to deliver excellent classroom practice. The Deputy Head of English will work closely with the Head of English and Second in Charge to support the development of the department. This Deputy Head of English position offers the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, intervention strategies and departmental improvement. The Role – Deputy Head of English The Deputy Head of English will support the leadership and day-to-day operation of the English department. As Deputy Head of English, you will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 while helping to drive strong academic outcomes. The Deputy Head of English will: * Teach English across KS3 and KS4 * Support the Head of English with curriculum planning * Help develop and review schemes of work * Support GCSE intervention strategies * Use student progress data to raise attainment * Work collaboratively with the English department to share best practice This Deputy Head of English role provides a strong pathway into further leadership within the department.
