Design Engineer

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Design Engineer to work within Highways and Transport on a hybrid basis and 12 month contract.    Design Engineer – Highways & Transport £300 per day - 12 month contract Cambridgeshire - Hybrid    The successful Design Engineer will have previous experience working in Highways / Transport / Construction working with highway design.  Within the role you will  support the principal engineer in designing projects that best meet the needs of users and the local community, plan and design local infrastructure projects through service providers, prepare scheme designs and monitor progress and expenditure amongst other duties. Key experience Experience in the development, planning, and design of transport infrastructure and related projects. Experience in budget management Working knowledge of Health and Safety law and CDM 2015. Experience of managing external consultants and contractors. Understanding of legislation, practices, programmes, and funding arrangements for transport infrastructure projects Practical experience in dealing and negotiating with consultants and contractors and other organisations. Good organisational skills and a flexible approach in planning and promoting work to meet tight deadlines Proficient AutoCAD user. Experience producing detailed construction drawings for tender. Understanding of specific legislation relating to highway design. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established organisation on an initial 12 month contract
