Design Engineer
Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer Salary: £38,000 – £48,000 (DOE) Reporting to: 3D CAD Manager Hours: Full-time | 4-day week (Monday–Thursday) Location: On-site About the Company This well-established manufacturer designs and builds high-quality lodges and retreats, with a product portfolio ranging from entry-level models through to premium and high-end luxury developments. The Role As a CAD Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in turning concepts into accurate, production-ready designs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure all drawings meet technical, manufacturing, and quality standards while supporting the development of new and improved products across the full model range. Key Responsibilities * Produce accurate manufacturing drawings and machining data using SOLIDWORKS Professional and PDM systems * Organise, update, and maintain existing drawings and design records * Liaise with internal departments including Sales and Interior Design to ensure specifications are met * Ensure all designs align with company standards and best practices * Provide technical support and product information using 3D CAD software * Contribute to continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes * Support manufacturing teams with technical issues and problem resolution * Follow the New Product Development (NPD) process and support prototype builds * Maintain product and process quality standards Skills & Experience * Minimum 2 years’ experience using 3D CAD software * Strong preference for SOLIDWORKS (Inventor or Pro Engineer also considered) * Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings * Knowledge of furniture design and construction principles (desirable) * Understanding of timber stud wall construction (advantageous) * Experience with CAD/CAM and programme nesting (beneficial) * Background in modular, manufacturing, or similar production environments (preferred) Benefits * 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday) * Competitive salary: £38,000 – £48,000 DOE * Cycle to Work Scheme * On-site parking * Employee perks platform access
