Apply NowLinear Recruitment are working with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of major projects across water, transport, energy and the built environment sectors.
The Role
This position will take ownership of technical delivery across projects, ensuring design solutions are compliant, cost-effective and delivered on time. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate both internal and external design resources.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing and leading design teams and external consultants
*
Ensuring all designs meet regulatory, client and technical standards
*
Delivering design solutions across water and infrastructure projects (including pipelines, pumping stations and treatment works)
*
Managing design budgets, programmes and change control processes
*
Supporting project teams with technical input throughout the project lifecycle
*
Ensuring all outputs meet health & safety and quality standards
*
Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, delivery and supply chain
*
Supporting temporary works design coordination where required
About You
*
Proven experience in design management within civil engineering or infrastructure
*
Strong technical knowledge of water or utilities projects (desirable)
*
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
*
Working towards or holding professional membership (ICE or equivalent)
*
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
*
Experience managing design programmes, budgets and teams
*
Knowledge of BIM and common data environments (desirable)
