Internal Account Manager - (Gravesend)

Location: Gravesend (Office-based)
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused office based Account Manager to join our Packaging & Components sales team based in Gravesend.

This is an account management-focused role where you'll build and maintain strong customer relationships, manage incoming enquiries, and support sales growth through excellent service and account development. Please note: this role does not include commission or bonus schemes there is no cold calling as such pure account management.

You'll also play a part in supporting wider commercial activities such as market research and contributing ideas towards new product development, helping the business stay ahead of customer needs and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Support

Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business
Handle incoming enquiries and follow up on prospective customer activity from the external sales team
Convert sales leads into orders through proactive communication and follow-up
Identify opportunities for account growth through upselling and cross-selling
Collaborate closely with field sales teams to ensure a joined-up customer approach
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system

Marketing & Product Development

Conduct outbound calls to existing customers to promote products and services
reaserching leads and passing to field team
Support marketing campaigns and new product initiatives
Provide feedback on customer needs, product performance, and market demand
Work with marketing to help deliver effective campaigns
Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations
Share customer insights with commercial and product teams

Collaboration & Coordination

Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service delivery
Contribute to monthly sales reviews and performance tracking
Support continuous improvement in processes and customer experience

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Experience in account management role, ideally within packaging, trade, or B2B environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships over phone and email
Commercial awareness and interest in market trends
Comfortable working towards sales targets and KPIs
Well-organised, self-motivated, and confident using IT systems (Outlook, Excel, CRM)
