Desktop Engineer
Location: Cheltenham – 5 days onsite
Rate: £250 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 3 months
Our client, a leading organisation within a secure and fast-paced environment, is looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their onsite IT support team in Cheltenham on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a hands-on role providing desktop and user support across a busy operational environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining end-user technology, resolving technical issues quickly, and ensuring a high level of service across the business.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Desktop Engineer who enjoys working directly with users, troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues, and operating within a collaborative support environment.
What you’ll do:
Provide onsite desktop and user support across hardware, software and peripheral devices
Build, configure and deploy laptops, desktops and mobile devices
Troubleshoot and resolve 1st and 2nd line technical issues
Support Microsoft environments including Windows 10/11 and Office 365
Manage tickets and ensure issues are resolved within agreed SLAs
You’ll work closely with wider IT teams and end users, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining strong technical standards.
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience in a Desktop Support or Desktop Engineer role
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office 365
Experience with hardware builds, deployments and troubleshooting
Excellent communication and stakeholder support skills
Ability to work effectively in a fully onsite environment
Experience within fast-paced or enterprise-scale environments would be advantageous.
