Disability Facility Grant Officer
Our client in Vale of Glamorgan is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Disability Facilities Grant (DFG) Officer to join a well-structured and dynamic team. This opportunity offers both full-time and part-time contracts, flexible working (including home working), a manageable caseload, and ongoing training to support your professional development. This is an initial 3–6 month contract, with strong potential for extension. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of Disability Facilities Grant applications from referral through to completion Assess service users’ needs within their home environment in line with DFG legislation and guidance Work closely with Occupational Therapists, surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholders Provide advice on suitable adaptations to promote independence and accessibility Oversee the approval process, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and budgets Monitor progress of works, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales Ensure safeguarding principles are upheld, maintaining dignity and respect for all service users Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Previous experience working in a DFG, housing adaptations, or housing grants role Strong understanding of Disability Facilities Grant legislation and processes Experience working with vulnerable individuals in a housing or social care setting Excellent communication and organisational skills Enhanced DBS (can be arranged) Eligibility to work in the UK Desirable Experience working alongside Occupational Therapists or within local authority settings Knowledge of housing standards, minor/major adaptations, and grant funding processesBenefits Competitive rate of pay Flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options Manageable caseload Ongoing training and development opportunities Free onsite parking Opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that improve independence and quality of life Why Join Our Agency?
