Distribution Manager
Job Title: Distribution Manager Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Location: Kidderminster Working Pattern: Monday – Friday Start Date: Immediate Start Available Industry: Manufacturing / Distribution Purpose of the Role The Distribution Manager will be responsible for leading and improving warehousing, logistics, and distribution operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working as part of the operations team, you will collaborate closely with production, order processing, supply chain, and stock control functions to ensure efficient and reliable end-to-end distribution. The role is focused on driving operational performance, improving efficiency across logistics activities, and supporting business objectives across a busy and varied operation. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee all warehouse and distribution activities including inbound and outbound logistics, goods-in, storage, and order fulfilment across multiple channels. Ensure warehouse operations comply with health and safety legislation, operational standards, and site governance requirements. Act as the senior operational contact for distribution activities, resolving operational issues while maintaining high service levels. Team Management and Development Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and logistics teams. Support training, performance management, and team development initiatives. Inventory and Supply Chain Management Maintain stock integrity through effective stock control processes and regular auditing. Work closely with supply chain and stock control teams to support accurate inventory planning. Order Fulfilment and Dispatch Manage the full order fulfilment process from post-production through to final dispatch. Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery across all sales and distribution channels. Transport and Logistics Coordination Support the development and optimisation of delivery and transport strategies. Monitor distribution performance metrics and drive continuous improvement. Support commercial relationships with courier, freight, and logistics providers. Compliance and Documentation Ensure distribution activities meet regulatory and compliance standards. Support accurate preparation of shipping and operational documentation where required. Systems and Process Improvement Act as a key user and operational owner of the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance distribution performance. Business and Operational Support Work collaboratively across departments to support operational planning and scheduling. Contribute to wider business improvement and transformation initiatives. Skills and Experience Required Proven experience in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics management role Strong leadership and team management skills Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or fast-paced operational environment Knowledge of stock control and supply chain processes Understanding of transport and dispatch coordination Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and stakeholder management skills What’s On Offer Salary £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience Immediate start available Monday – Friday working pattern Opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business Supportive and friendly working environment
