Early Years Practitioner Needed – Newcastle upon Tyne
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming nursery setting in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Position: Early Years Practitioner
Hours: 4 days per week (Monday–Friday)

3 days: 8:00am – 6:00pm

1 day: Either 8:00am – 5:30pm or 8:30am – 6:00pm
Pay: Competitive rates (based on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

Support the care, learning, and development of children within the nursery

Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework

Provide a warm, nurturing, and consistent presence for young children

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships with children and families

Ensure high standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and child wellbeing

Requirements:

A recognised childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare)

Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting

Good knowledge of the EYFS framework

A patient, caring, and motivated approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
