Hays Education work with a large number of primary schools across Coventry and support Early Career Teachers looking to gain classroom experience through supply teaching, as well as those hoping to secure longer-term roles where they can complete their ECT induction.
Whether you're keen to experience different schools before committing to a permanent role or are looking for support finding the right school to begin your career, we're here to help.
Your new role
Starting your teaching career is an exciting time, but choosing the right school can feel like a big decision.
Many ECTs start on supply, giving them the opportunity to build confidence, gain experience across different year groups and develop their teaching practice in a variety of settings. It can also be a great way to get your foot in the door with local schools and find an environment that suits you.
Alongside day-to-day supply work, we can also support ECTs looking for longer-term placements, maternity cover and teaching opportunities in schools that are able to support them through their induction period.
Whether you're looking for flexibility, experience or a longer-term route into teaching, we'd love to discuss your options.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS before September
Teaching experience gained through recent placements
Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A positive and proactive attitude
Willingness to learn and develop as a teacher
Flexibility and adaptability
What you'll get in return
