EHC Assessment & Review Officer

📍 West Yorkshire (Fully Remote)

We’re currently working with a Local Authority in West Yorkshire to recruit an experienced EHC Assessment & Review Officer for a fully remote contract.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive SEND service, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, statutory-compliant EHCP processes and improving outcomes for children and young people.

đź§© The Role

You’ll support the management of a SEND caseload, ensuring Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews are carried out effectively, within statutory timelines, and with a strong child-centred approach.

Working closely with families and multi-agency partners, you’ll help ensure plans are robust, outcomes-focused, and clearly communicated.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

* Support the management of a caseload of children and young people with SEN

* Contribute to statutory assessments and annual reviews, ensuring deadlines are met

* Draft and review EHCP documentation to a high standard

* Work directly with families to ensure they understand the process and feel supported

* Liaise with education, health, and social care professionals to coordinate assessments

* Attend and chair annual reviews and multi-agency meetings where required

* Support with placement discussions, funding queries, and tribunal-related matters

* Provide clear updates and maintain accurate case records

* Handle complex cases with confidence, offering practical and solution-focused outcomes

✅ What We’re Looking For

* Strong experience working within SEND and EHCP processes

* In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation

* Experience working with children, families, and multi-agency professionals

* Ability to analyse complex reports and present information clearly

* Confident communicator, able to manage challenging conversations and conflict

* Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently

* Experience supporting or leading annual reviews and assessments

🎓 Requirements

* Relevant degree or equivalent experience (e.g. social work, education, youth work, or similar)

* Enhanced DBS (without barred list)
