Electrical Design Engineer 📍 Based near Bedford 💰 £53,000–£54,000 per annum Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a hands-on, hardware-focused role within a specialist machinery manufacturer? This is an opportunity to join a well-established engineering business that designs and manufactures bespoke industrial machinery for key sectors. What’s on Offer Competitive salary: £53,000–£54,000 Hybrid working: 2 days from home / 3 days in the office Stable, specialist manufacturing environment Supportive team culture with on-site production The Role Reporting to the Electrical Engineering & Automation Team Leader, you will join a close-knit team. You’ll play a key role in the conceptual and detailed design of special-purpose machinery. Your responsibilities will include: Creating electrical circuit designs from written specifications Producing complete schematic drawing packages Generating and maintaining Bills of Materials within the ERP system Designing for manufacture and assembly Liaising with suppliers on purchased components Supporting production, service, and sales teams Developing test plans and procedures Supporting projects to demanding timescales and budgets This role is predominantly office-based, particularly as manufacturing is on-site and collaboration with production teams is key. About You We’re looking for a motivated and practical Electrical Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment. Essential: 1+ year of EPLAN experience would be desirable, however other electrical CAD packages will be considered. Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical Degree, HND or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Strong understanding of electrical circuit diagrams and symbols Proven experience in electrical hardware design Knowledge of EN60204 and EN13849  If you’re an experienced Electrical Hardware Design Engineer looking to take ownership of technically challenging projects in a manufacturing-led business, we’d love to hear from you
