Electrical Design Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (TP137 / CDAE Authorised) Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Duration: 12 Months Start Date: ASAP Location: Remote first, with occasional office visits required in Newcastle. Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with TP137 CDAE authorisation to support design and engineering works on a major power infrastructure project. This is a 12-month contract role, working outside IR35, with flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will support the delivery of electrical design packages while operating under TP137 / CDAE authorisation, ensuring all engineering outputs comply with project standards and network requirements. Key Responsibilities * Deliver electrical design and engineering documentation for power and grid infrastructure projects. * Act under TP137 CDAE authorisation to review and approve design deliverables where required. * Produce and review design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications. * Support design assurance and compliance with network operator standards. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders. * Participate in technical reviews, design checks, and engineering approvals. * Ensure engineering deliverables meet industry standards, safety requirements, and project timelines. Requirements * Proven experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within the power, utilities, or transmission sector. * TP137 CDAE authorisation is essential. * Experience with HV / EHV electrical infrastructure, substations, or power transmission projects. * Strong understanding of electrical design standards and engineering documentation. * Ability to work independently while coordinating with wider engineering teams. * Excellent technical and communication skills.
