James Lewis Recruitment is recruiting an Electrical Estimator for an established M&E contractor based in Braintree.
The business delivers industrial unit fit-outs, office refurbishments and commercial fit-outs, with larger projects reaching approximately £3 million in combined M&E value. They are looking for someone seeking a long-term position who can take ownership of electrical estimates and work closely with the project delivery team.
The role
You’ll prepare accurate, competitive electrical estimates, reviewing tender information and building a clear understanding of the scope, costs and requirements of each project.
Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
*
Carrying out electrical take-offs and preparing material and labour estimates.
*
Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
*
Identifying scope gaps, exclusions and areas requiring clarification.
*
Preparing tender submissions within agreed deadlines.
*
Liaising with project managers, suppliers and clients throughout the tender process.
*
Supporting the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
About you
*
Previous electrical estimating experience with an electrical or M&E contractor.
*
Experience of commercial fit-outs, office refurbishments or industrial projects.
*
An electrical trade or technical background, ideally supported by an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, HNC/HND or equivalent.
*
Good knowledge of electrical installations and relevant standards.
*
Confidence using Excel and estimating software.
*
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing tender deadlines.
*
Clear communication skills and a practical approach to resolving queries.

£45,000–£70,000 salary, depending on experience.
