Electrical Estimator

Senior Electrical Estimator (Highways) * Watford (Hybrid-working) * c£60,000 per year (+ Package) The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to take ownership of tendering activity across highways electrical projects including street lighting, traffic signals, CMS/VMS, feeder pillars and associated infrastructure works. This is a commercially focused role responsible for delivering accurate, competitive, and strategically aligned submissions within live infrastructure and framework environments. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare detailed cost estimates for highways electrical projects (£50k–£5m+) * Review drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities * Price works from first principles, including Design & Build schemes * Build labour, plant, material, and subcontract cost models * Lead supplier/subcontractor enquiries and quotation negotiations * Manage tenders from enquiry through to submission and adjudication * Conduct risk assessments and margin reviews * Identify value engineering opportunities * Provide structured handovers to delivery teams * Maintain estimating data, benchmarking, and market intelligence Skills and Experience: * Proven experience estimating highways electrical or street lighting projects * Strong knowledge of highway infrastructure standards and BS7671 * Experience within term maintenance or infrastructure frameworks * Commercially astute with strong risk and margin awareness * Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Trimble, Amtech) * Able to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines Applications: Please contact James here at ISR to understand more about how our client are growing their teams across a number of key areas and how you can become a part of their expanding business as they look to develop their capabilities further in the Transport Technology sector
