Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Approved Supervisor

GPW are working with a leading engineering and utilities contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Approved Supervisor to join their team. The business delivers critical work across gas transmission and industrial sites and offers long-term, high-value project exposure.

Role Overview:

* Supervise and carry out Electrical & Instrumentation installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and testing activities on operational gas sites

* Work within hazardous area environments (ATEX/DSEAR), including Ex & IS systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements

* Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and corrective actions, while reading, interpreting, and updating electrical drawings and technical documentation

* Carry out isolations, risk assessments, and work within Permit to Work (PTW) systems, maintaining accurate reports, inspection records, and documentation

* Liaise with clients, site teams, and project stakeholders, while identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and safety concerns

Requirements:

* Minimum 10 years’ experience within Electrical & Instrumentation roles, ideally within gas transmission and distribution

* Experience working on major utility or gas network operator sites with strong knowledge of hazardous area installations

* Proven background in inspection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding

* Ability to work independently, supervise on-site activities, and operate within Permit to Work systems

Qualifications & Certifications:

* Time Served Electrician with City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 and 18th Edition (C&G 2382)

* Inspection & Testing (C&G 2377)

* CompEx Ex01–04 plus Ex05 & Ex06 (Dust)

* EUSR, SCO Core & SCO91, plus relevant client competency authorisations

Desirable:

* PASMA, HSG47, and First Aid (FAW / EFAW)

* Additional utility competencies or instrumentation calibration and commissioning experience
