Electrician
The Role
This site‑based role involves carrying out electrical installation, maintenance and testing across both live and new‑build environments. It requires a high standard of workmanship, strong knowledge of current regulations and the ability to complete testing and certification accurately. You will work as part of a site delivery team to ensure all electrical works are completed safely, compliantly and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates for tender submissions, including labour, materials, plant, preliminaries and risk allowances.
* Installing domestic and industrial electrical systems, including containment, cabling, power, lighting and associated accessories in line with drawings and specifications.
* Carrying out electrical testing and inspection works, including completion of test sheets and certification in accordance with current regulations.
* Conducting fault finding, remedial works and commissioning of electrical installations.
* Ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements, site procedures and permit systems.
* Coordinating with supervisors, other trades and management to ensure works are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
About You
* Able to work in occupied, live or sensitive environments when required.
* Willing to work flexible hours, including out‑of‑hours or weekend work.
* Capable of maintaining accurate records, test results and as‑built documentation.
* Professional, reliable and able to represent the organisation well on site.
* Physically capable of manual handling tasks and working at height, in confined spaces and in varying site conditions.
* Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
* Electrical testing and inspection qualification (e.g., 2391‑52 or equivalent).
* Proven experience delivering electrical installations on construction sites.
* Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
* Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
* Good understanding of health and safety, risk assessments and method statements.
* ECS and CSCS card holders.
* Experience working in high‑security environments and able to obtain relevant security clearances (e.g., CTC, SC).
