Electrolyte Scientist
This role combines experimental research, materials development and electrochemical analysis, supporting the design and optimisation of battery systems from early-stage concepts through to prototype-level validation.
The Electrolyte Scientist will:
* Design and optimise semi‑solid, quasi‑solid and all‑solid‑state battery systems in pouch cell format.
* Investigate interfaces between solid electrolytes and metallic anodes to understand performance and stability.
* Develop strategies to improve interfacial behaviour, reduce impedance and enhance cycle life.
* Evaluate electrolyte materials, including polymer, hybrid and inorganic systems.
* Lead metallic anode integration activities, including plating and stripping performance.
* Design and carry out electrochemical testing programmes (e.g. impedance, cycling, rate testing)
The Electrolyte Scientist will have:
* A Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience working with lithium and/or sodium battery chemistries.
* Hands‑on experience with solid‑state, semi‑solid or quasi‑solid battery systems.
* Strong understanding of battery interfaces, particularly electrolyte and anode interactions.
* Experience working with pouch cell design, assembly and testing.
* Familiarity with electrochemical characterisation techniques such as EIS, CV or galvanostatic testing.
This role is suited to someone with a strong technical interest in advanced battery materials and interfacial engineering, looking to contribute to the development of next‑generation energy storage technologies. Apply with your CV to learn more
