Engineering Change Specialist
A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for an Engineering Change Specialist to join its Sourcing and Operations Support team. You'll be managing obsolescence and diminishing manufacturing sources (DMS) across a wide range of existing products and designs, driving investigations, coordinating change reviews, and ensuring all modifications meet regulatory and customer requirements. After an initial 6-month settling-in period, hybrid working is available.
What you'll be doing:
Managing investigations into obsolescence and DMS issues on existing production products, following 8D investigation processes
Calling and chairing change reviews, producing and presenting change review documentation to internal and external customers
Generating engineering and change documentation including root cause corrective actions, costed BoMs, FMEAs, and change proposal presentations
Producing customer reporting in relation to obsolescence and DMS issues
Managing and prioritising workload across wider engineering team tasks
Producing, modifying, and up-revising engineering PDI in line with configuration and change management procedures
Supporting trial installations and builds
Identifying opportunities for continual improvement across products and processes
Working collaboratively across a wide range of products and technologies including mechanical, electrical, pyrotechnic, and textile components
What you need:
1st or 2.1 Engineering degree
Experience managing design change projects under tight time and quality constraints
Strong problem-solving skills including 8D techniques
Experience of the full engineering change process including modification classifications and management
Good understanding of modern manufacturing methods, materials, and processes
Configuration management and change classification experience
Expertise in design for assembly and manufacture
Proficiency in product lifecycle/configuration management software
Intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Security clearance will be required
Desirable:
Experience with GD&T to ASME Y14.5
Knowledge of US MIL STD or UK Def Stan
Aerospace or defence design experience
3D CAD modelling capability
Familiarity with Teamcenter
What's on offer:
£45,000–£55,000 depending on experience
Days: 08:00–17:00 Mon–Thu / 08:00–12:00 Fri
