The Opportunity for the Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead a busy, safety-critical depot operation in Walthamstow, working to Transport for London (TfL) standards.
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for engineering performance, compliance, fleet reliability, and team management.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager
Lead and manage all engineering operations within the depot
Ensure full compliance with TfL, DVSA and Health & Safety regulations
Drive fleet reliability, availability, and presentation standards
Manage, mentor, and develop Supervisors and Technicians
Control budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Oversee maintenance planning, defect management, and audits
Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
What you will need as Engineering Manager
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Workshop Manager within PSV, Bus, Coach, or HGV environments
Strong understanding of TfL standards and regulatory compliance
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience
