Lead Pump Engineer / Engineering Supervisor Location: Northwest Salary: £42,000 – £48,000+ Basic | OTE £55,000+ Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Company Vehicle | Specialist Equipment | Leadership Development About the Role We are looking for a Lead Pump Engineer / Engineering Supervisor to oversee a team of field engineers delivering pump and drainage services across the Northwest. This senior role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to step into leadership while remaining technically involved. You will act as the technical escalation point for complex pump systems, ensure engineering quality standards, and support the development of the engineering team. This is a highly visible role offering competitive pay, excellent equipment, and a clear pathway into Operations or Contracts Management. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership * Act as the senior escalation engineer for complex pump faults * Provide technical guidance and support to engineers * Conduct quality control of installations and repairs * Perform site audits and engineering inspections Operational Responsibilities * Support scheduling and job allocation across the team * Assist with training and development of engineers * Handle customer technical queries and complaints * Oversee larger commercial installations Pump Systems * Oversight and support for sewage pumping stations, basement pump systems, and surface/foul water pump systems * Support complex control panels, alarms, and float systems Experience Required * Extensive pump engineering experience * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills * Experience leading or mentoring engineers * Experience with commercial pump systems and emergency call-outs * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience / Training * Experience with Grundfos, Wilo, Lowara, or similar pumps * Confined space certification * CCTV survey experience * Electrical or mechanical qualifications What’s on Offer * £42k – £48k+ basic salary * OTE £55k+ * Company vehicle and specialist equipment * Leadership and management development * Clear pathway into Operations or Contracts Management Ideal Candidate * Experienced pump engineer with strong diagnostics and commercial awareness * Comfortable leading and mentoring a team * Professional, reliable, and customer-focused * Interested in career progression into management rolesTop of Form Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be eligible to work in the UK.
