Apply NowCarmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Engineering Surveyor/Site Engineer to support a roadworks project in Central London, working with a Tier 1 contractor on a short-term 6-week night-shift assignment.
The works involve manholes, cored holes, and line & level surveys, supporting site teams during live night-time operations in a busy urban environment.
The Role
As Engineering Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out line and level surveys to support roadworks activities
Setting out and surveying manholes and cored holes
Providing accurate survey data to site engineers and supervisors
Maintaining clear and accurate survey records
Working closely with site teams to ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
Supporting night-shift operations within a live traffic and pedestrian environment
Shift pattern:
🕗 Night shifts — 20:00 to 05:00
📆 Duration — 6 weeks
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Proven experience as an Engineering Surveyor on highways or roadworks projects
Strong experience with line & level surveying
Experience working on Tier 1 contractor projects
Confidence working night shifts in a live urban environment
Good working knowledge of survey equipment and site control
A strong focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork
