English Specialist Teaching Assistant Location: Tower Hamlets, East London School Type: Secondary School A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a committed English Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about English and literacy to support students in developing strong reading, writing and communication skills. About the Role Working closely with the English department, the successful candidate will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 both in class and through targeted literacy interventions. You will play a key role in helping students improve their confidence and achievement in English. Key Responsibilities Support teaching and learning within English lessons Work with small groups and individual students to develop literacy skills Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities Support students with reading, writing, comprehension and exam preparation Help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will Have a strong background in English or a related subject Be passionate about literacy and student progress Have experience working with young people (desirable) Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills Be proactive, patient and enthusiastic about supporting learning
