Location: Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday: 6am-2.30pm
A well-established manufacturer is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Machining Technician to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business supplying polystyrene inserts into the construction industry.
The Role
You will set up, operate, and monitor EPS pre-expanders and shape-moulding machinery, carry out quality inspections, and support finishing processes to ensure products meet customer specifications and production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor machinery
Carry out routine quality checks on machinery
Pressure test, monitor cycle times, rectify machine faults.
Assist with insertion moulding and secondary manufacturing operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Work alongside maintenance engineers to complete repairs
Follow production procedures and health & safety standards at all timesWhat We’re Looking For
Previous experience in plastic or polystyrene machining, or machine operation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent attention to detail
A strong commitment to quality
The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Good problem-solving skills and initiative
Basic computer skills
Flexibility and willingness to learn new machinery and processes
Reliability and a strong work ethic
Good health & safety awareness
Basic maths skills
