Company Overview

Our client is a growing bespoke joinery manufacturer delivering high-quality interior solutions across bespoke furniture sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Estimator to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong carpentry or joinery background who understands the technical and commercial aspects of projects and can produce accurate, competitive, costings to be used in tenders

Role Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing costings for accurate cost estimates to be compiled by Management for bespoke joinery projects. The successful candidate will analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure commercially viable pricing supporting the business in securing profitable work.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of joinery manufacturing, materials, labour

Key Responsibilities

Review, drawings, specifications, and scope of works

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery projects

Produce costings from Excel spreadsheets for management to use to create tender submissions and supporting documentation within deadlines

Be able to communicate with both customers and colleagues

Ensure estimates align with profitability targets and business objectives

Requirements

Essential

Previous experience as an Estimator with a strong joinery background who is PC literate and used to controlling spreadsheets to compile costings, allowing for subframes and wastage plus difficulty of manufacture

Strong understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing

Can communicate with customers and colleagues effectively and politely

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Excellent numerical skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and strong Excel ability

Desirable

Experience working with contractors, designers etc

Relevant construction or joinery qualifications

Personal Attributes

Detail-oriented and highly organised

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Commercially focused with a proactive approach

Team player with the ability to work independently

Problem solver with strong time management skills
