We are working with a 2‑form entry primary school in Walthamstow who are seeking an experienced EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a long‑term position supporting children with complex needs in a Reception setting.
This role requires a confident, resilient, and highly experienced SEN TA who is comfortable working with pupils who require significant additional support.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for children with complex SEN needs
Supporting learning, communication, emotional regulation, and personal care where required
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support plans
Creating a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
The Ideal Candidate
Has extensive SEN and Early Years experience
Is confident supporting children with complex needs
Comfortable working in a Reception / EYFS environment
Calm, patient, proactive, and emotionally resilient
Able to work full‑time (8:30-4:30) on a long‑term basis
Early Years or SEN qualification desirable, but not essential for the right level of experience
