A warm, welcoming, and highly supportive primary school in Skelmersdale is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic EYFS Teacher to join their team from 4th May. This full-time position will run until the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent from September for a candidate who excels.

About the Role
The school is looking for a confident Early Years practitioner with solid EYFS experience who can deliver high‑quality, play-based learning. You will take responsibility for a reception or nursery class (depending on the school’s needs), working closely with a skilled support team to create an engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
This is a fantastic role for a teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and is committed to helping young learners take their first steps in school with confidence and joy.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate EYFS lessons
Provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports all children
Work closely with teaching assistants and EYFS practitioners to deliver effective provision
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress in line with EYFS frameworks
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families
Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised EYFS classroom
Work collaboratively with the Early Years Lead and wider school team
Follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYTS
Proven experience teaching in EYFS (essential)
Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early child development
Ability to plan engaging and purposeful play-based activities
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
Commitment to supporting all learners, including those with additional needs
