We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established facilities maintenance contractor, looking for a skilled Building Fabric Technician to join their team covering a busy retail estate across South Wales. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys fixing things and isn't afraid of a bit of everything — one day you might be repairing external signage, the next you're patching up flooring, replacing a door, or sorting out a section of fencing.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
* Carrying out a broad mix of fabric repairs and planned maintenance across a portfolio of retail sites — think carpentry, general repairs, minor building works, external areas and more
* Working to agreed timescales and quality standards, so customers know they can rely on you
* Assessing jobs on-site and feeding back clearly so accurate quotes and materials lists can be put together
* Taking photos and notes to document work completed, so there's a clear record of what's been done
* Keeping your van, tools and materials organised so you're ready for whatever the day throws at you
* Being the friendly, professional face of the contract when you're dealing with customers on-site
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Solid multi-trade experience within building fabric or facilities maintenance
* Confident working independently and managing your own workload
* A good eye for detail and a genuine focus on getting things right first time
* Clear communicator, comfortable liaising with both customers and your contracts manager
* A full UK driving licence, as this role covers an estate across Exeter / South Devon region
