Start People are looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join their growing team in Peterlee.

This role involves working on a varied range of fabrication projects including structural steelwork, bespoke fabrications, stillages, and industrial products within a busy workshop environment.

Hours:

(Apply online only) Monday to Thursday

(Apply online only) Friday

Pay:

£15.75 per hour (Paid Weekly)

Key Responsibilities

* Fabricate and assemble components from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium

* Work from engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications

* Carry out MIG welding (and occasional TIG where applicable)

* Manufacture a range of products including:

* Structural steelwork

* Secondary steelwork

* Stillages, racking, and material handling equipment

* Platforms, stairs, handrails and safety barriers

* Use workshop machinery such as saws, grinders, drills and press equipment

* Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications

* Perform self-inspection of completed work

* Maintain a clean and safe workspace in line with health & safety procedures

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience as a Fabrication

* Strong MIG welding ability (essential)

* Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings

* Experience working with structural or general steel fabrication

* Good attention to detail and high standard of workmanship

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
