Field Service Engineer

Service Engineer (Field-Based) UK (North & Midlands Region) Remote / Field-Based with Travel Our client is a specialist provider of laboratory testing equipment, supporting customers across the rubber and materials sectors. They are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Service Engineer to join their field-based engineering team. This is a remote role offering a high level of autonomy, where you will travel directly to customer sites across the UK and occasionally Europe, carrying out servicing, calibration and repair work on specialist equipment. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain and repair laboratory testing equipment at customer sites * Calibrate electro-mechanical and electronic instruments to required standards * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs * Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections * Complete detailed service reports and calibration documentation * Provide technical support and advice to customers on-site * Identify opportunities for upgrades, servicing solutions or replacement equipment * Support commercial activity by highlighting potential sales opportunities during visits Requirements * Electro-mechanical engineering background * Proven experience servicing laboratory or industrial equipment * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * High level of attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to work independently in a field-based role * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel preferred) * Full UK driving licence * Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally Desirable Experience * Experience with materials or hardness testing equipment * Knowledge of ISO or UKAS calibration standards * Calibration experience (e.g. ovens, presses, balances) * Additional language skills (e.g. French) would be advantageous What’s on Offer * Field-based role with a high degree of autonomy * Company vehicle provided for business use * Company pension scheme * Health cash plan * Employee savings scheme * 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service If you are an experienced Service Engineer looking for a varied, field-based role with international exposure, our client would be keen to hear from you
