Field Service Engineer

Job Title: Service Engineer (Workshop & Field Based) Location: Northampton Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 per annum Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:30 Overtime: Weekends and overtime at Manager’s discretion (not guaranteed weekly) Contract: Permanent Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer to join a growing operation based in NN6. This role will initially be predominantly workshop-based (approximately 80%) with an element of field service work (20%), with the intention to grow the field-based aspect over time. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Plant Maintenance Engineer looking to develop within a structured and supportive environment. Full SANY manufacturer training will be provided, alongside tools and a company van where required. A bonus scheme will be introduced upon successful completion of probation. Key Responsibilities: Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant machinery within the workshop Attend customer sites as required to diagnose, repair and maintain equipment Fault finding and diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation using company systems Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards Support the growth of the field service function over timeRequired Skills & Experience: NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance Relevant industry experience within plant, heavy equipment or similar Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability IT literate and confident using reporting systems Full, clean UK driving licence Must live within a commutable distance of NN6Desirable Skills: NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance IMI Level 3 qualification Auto-electrics experienceBenefits: £38,000 – £40,000 salary Bonus scheme (post probation) Tools and company van provided (if required) Full SANY training Structured working hours (Mon–Fri)
