Field Service Engineer
We’re hiring for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to support mobile, vehicle-mounted machinery across the South of England, with Reading acting as the central hub for this role. This is a practical, field-based role focused on maintaining and repairing specialist mobile equipment on site. What’s on offer? * £42k - £45k p/a * Mon – Fri | 8am – 5pm * 45 hour week * Door-to-door pay (standard rate weekdays) * Overtime paid at 1.5x on Saturdays * 24 days holiday + bank holidays * Company vehicle provided (racked & equipped) * Fuel card * One overnight stay per week on average (hotel costs covered) * £25 daily allowance when working away * 5% pension contribution * Profit-related bonus (EOT scheme) What will you be doing as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer? * Working from home and travelling to customer sites across the South of England * Carrying out reactive and planned repair work on mobile mixing equipment * Mechanical fitting and replacement of parts on vehicle-mounted machinery * Supporting machine calibration (full training provided) * Basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics * Basic hydraulic fault diagnosis * Light fabrication and MIG welding where required * Recording machine data and calibration results accurately * Being the on-site point of contact with customers * Keeping the company vehicle clean, organised, and inspection-ready What will you need? * Previous experience in a field service, plant, mobile engineering, or mechanical repair role * A full UK driving licence * Comfortable working independently and travelling for work Interested?
