A highly regarded secondary school in East London is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time, temp to perm.
This is a senior role offering the opportunity to lead financial operations, work closely with senior leadership, and help shape the long-term financial strategy of the school.
The Role
* Lead on budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Produce monthly management accounts and reports for senior leaders and governors
* Oversee day-to-day finance operations and compliance (ESFA / Academy Trust standards)
* Manage audits, financial returns, and statutory reporting
* Monitor payroll, income, expenditure, and financial controls
* Support strategic financial planning and funding bids
* Oversee contracts, procurement, and value for money processes
What We’re Looking For
* Degree and/or professional finance qualification
* Strong experience in financial management (education sector desirable)
* Experience managing budgets, reporting, and audits
* Knowledge of academy finance / public sector finance (preferred)
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to work at both strategic and operational level
