Financial Controller – SAP / Project Finance Chatham, Kent (Hybrid) iro £70,000 pa We are partnering with an innovative global technology solutions provider to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for their UK finance team. Operating within a fast-growing technology and services environment, the business delivers large-scale digital infrastructure solutions across the transportation sector. This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional with strong SAP experience and a background in project-based organisations. The Role Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will take ownership of financial planning, reporting and project financial performance across the region. The role has a strong focus on project financial control, SAP system optimisation, and commercial financial analysis. Key responsibilities include: * Lead monthly financial reporting, including P&L analysis, variance reporting and management insight. * Provide financial oversight of project portfolios, monitoring project costs, margins and OPEX against budget and forecasts. * Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring accurate financial planning across the business. * Work closely with operational teams to provide commercial financial insight into long-term technology and service projects. * Utilise and enhance SAP financial systems to support reporting, controls and financial processes. * Drive improvements in financial processes, controls and reporting tools. * Support statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit processes. * Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations and project delivery teams. We are looking for a technically strong finance professional who is comfortable working in a technology, IT, engineering or service-based environment. Key requirements: * 8–10 years’ experience within Financial Control, FP&A or Project Finance. * Strong experience using SAP or similar ERP systems. * Proven background in project financial control, project accounting, or long-term contract environments. * Experience working in technology, IT, telecoms, engineering or service-driven organisations. * Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience. * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into commercial insights. * Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (professional qualification desirable).
