Financial Services Consultant - Milton Keynes - Hybrid  Job description BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for an Financial Services Consultant to join our client, a major financial services organisation, based in Milton Keynes. We are offering an initial 6‑month contract starting ASAP, with an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company. About the role This role will support the finance and operations teams across a range of activities including internal controls testing, balance sheet investigations, accounts receivable and payable analysis, and payment processing. You’ll be responsible for resolving queries from colleagues across the business, ensuring requests are completed accurately, promptly, and in line with internal processes. This position is ideal for someone with strong numerical capability, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to build experience within a corporate finance environment. Key responsibilities include: Managing and resolving internal issues and ad-hoc queries from business colleagues, providing clear guidance where needed Supporting internal controls testing and balance sheet investigations Reviewing and investigating accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions Completing all manual refunds and write-offs (Faster Payments / CHAPS / Oracle) with full accuracy Allocating daily and weekly third‑party payments across multiple contracts, including credit card and cheque payments Producing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations (aged debtors, control accounts) and highlighting risks or control weaknesses Preparing, reviewing, importing and sending multiple daily BACS runs, ensuring four‑eyes control Processing cheque receipts, supporting banking tasks, and notifying colleagues of necessary account postings Preparing daily and weekly debt factoring templates and uploading financial data into internal systemsAbout you We’re looking for someone with: Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail Confidence handling numerical data and financial information Ability to work accurately at pace and follow defined processes Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving A willingness to learn and contribute to a busy finance operations team Relevant degree or prior finance exposure is advantageous but not essential.Additional Information Location: Milton Keynes Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week in office) Duration: 6 months Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
