Fire Alarm Engineer

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of fire alarm systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards in accordance with BS 5839 and company procedures. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and related life safety equipment. * Carry out routine inspections and testing in accordance with relevant standards. * Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner. * Complete service reports, certificates, and documentation accurately. * Provide technical support and advice to customers. * Participate in an on-call rota for emergency callouts (additional allowance paid). * Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times. Requirements Essential: * Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service or Maintenance Engineer. * Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g. Advanced, Kentec, Gent, Morley, Hochiki, Apollo, etc.). * Understanding of BS 5839 and other relevant standards. * Full UK driving licence. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. Desirable: * FIA training modules (Units 1–4 or equivalent). * Experience with addressable and conventional systems. * Knowledge of emergency lighting and smoke ventilation systems.
