Field Service Engineer / Service & Commissioning Engineer – £35,000–£38,000 + Benefits Regional Patch: North Bristol | South Wales | Gloucester | Chippenham (M5 Corridor) Company Vehicle | Field-Based Role | Growing Engineering Team The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer / Service & Commissioning Engineer to join a well-established engineering team supporting customers across North Bristol, South Wales and the M5 corridor. This role offers a defined regional patch, giving engineers variety in their work without excessive nationwide travel. You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of specialist equipment, ensuring customers receive a reliable and professional service. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem solving, working independently, and delivering high-quality technical support in the field. The Role As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include: * Installation, servicing, and maintenance of specialist equipment on customer sites * Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs * Supporting commissioning of new equipment and systems * Providing technical support and advice to customers on site * Completing service documentation and reports accurately * Working across a regional service area covering North Bristol, South Wales, Gloucester and Chippenham The Candidate We are looking for a practical and motivated engineer who is comfortable working independently and representing the company on customer sites. Essential: * Experience working as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems * Ability to work independently in a field-based role * Full UK driving licence * Ideally based in North Bristol to effectively cover the service area Desirable: * Previous commissioning experience * Experience installing or commissioning technical equipment * Background in industrial, manufacturing, or specialist engineering environments The Package * £35,000 – £38,000 salary (depending on experience) * Company vehicle * Structured training and ongoing support * Stable role within a growing engineering team * Opportunity for long-term career development Location / Coverage This role covers a regional service patch including North Bristol, South Wales, Gloucester, and Chippenham along the M5 corridor, so applicants should ideally be located within North Bristol or the surrounding areas
