Apply NowWe’re looking for a hands-on Fitter to join our client, assembling bespoke timber garden buildings at customer locations. You’ll be responsible for constructing and fitting structures, carrying out carpentry work, installing roofs, and delivering a polished finish. Training will begin in the workshop before moving onto site-based projects.
Main Duties:
* Assemble and install timber garden buildings according to company specifications.
* Interpret construction plans to build frames, walls, doors, windows, and roofs.
* Undertake carpentry and joinery tasks, making adjustments on site as needed.
* Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., saws, drills, nail guns).
* Fit roofing and ensure buildings are fully weatherproof.
* Safely handle and move heavy materials, maintaining health and safety standards.
* Apply finishes such as paint or sealants to complete the build.
* Interact professionally with customers, representing the company positively.
* Complete an Enhanced DBS check once fully working on sites (not required initially).
Who they’re looking for:
* Previous experience in carpentry, construction, or assembly-related work (preferred).
* Confident using both hand and power tools.
* Able to work outdoors and lift heavy items regularly.
* Basic numerical and measurement skills.
* Reliable and able to travel or relocate to Burton on Trent.
* Due to location candidates must have own transport.
