Site Manager / Assistant Site Manager – FRA Upgrades Location: Chester Contract: Temporary (Approx. 40 Weeks) Start Date: Mid–Late March Rate: Dependent on Experience We are seeking an experienced Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager to oversee Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) upgrade works in Chester. This is a long-term temporary opportunity (circa 40 weeks) managing works in an occupied setting. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site operations, subcontractors, resident decanting coordination, sprinkler installations, FRA remedials and associated redecoration works. While this is a fire-safety upgrade project, in-depth technical knowledge of sprinklers or fire stopping is not essential we are looking for a strong, IT-competent Site Manager with experience delivering projects in live care or residential environments. Role Overview: * Oversee all trades on site in collaboration with the Project Manager * Manage daily site operations and subcontractors * Coordinate resident decanting within a live retirement home * Ensure safe segregation of work areas in an occupied building * Carry out site inductions for operatives and visitors * Maintain all H&S documentation including RAMS, permits, inspections, site diaries and toolbox talks * Complete QA reports and delap photographs * Monitor quality of works including compartmentation and fire-stopping elements * Liaise with care home management to minimise disruption to residents Requirements: * Proven experience managing works in live/occupied environments (care homes, social housing, retirement living preferred) * SMSTS (Site Manager) or SSSTS (Assistant Site Manager) * CSCS Card * First Aid Certification * Strong organisational and IT skills * Experience delivering FRA or fire safety upgrade projects (desirable) * Professional, patient and considerate approach when working around vulnerable residents What We’re Looking For: This role requires a proactive, organised Site Manager who can maintain high health & safety standards while delivering critical fire safety works within a sensitive environment. A calm and respectful manner is essential due to the nature of the setting. Interviews will be conducted via Teams, with a view to appointing quickly.
