French Teacher – South Yorkshire Location: South Yorkshire Contract: Full-time Start Date: After Easter 2026 Duration: Long-term (covering sickness absence) Salary: £170–£220 per day (dependent on experience) About the Role PK Education are working with a secondary school in South Yorkshire who are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join their Modern Foreign Languages department after Easter. This is a long-term position covering a staff member on sickness leave and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a modern foreign language. The role offers a great opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities Planning and delivering engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4 while adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of different learners. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining strong classroom management to ensure a positive learning environment. You will also contribute to departmental planning and support students in developing a genuine interest in languages and different cultures. What We’re Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Strong subject knowledge in French and the ability to deliver engaging language lessons. The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues, alongside strong classroom management skills. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
